HALO 4 - Review

Halo 4 is a science fiction military game, developed by "343-industries". The game was released on (November 6 2012) and published by Microsoft Studios. Halo 4 was the most expensive game developed by 343-industries so far. The game series was already very popular and within the 24 Hours of game release, one million people played Halo-4 on Xbox Live. Halo 4 received positive reviews from the critics and received many nominations and awards from the press. Halo 4 supports downloadable content (DLC), the players can download the DLC through the ‘Xbox-Live Marketplace’. Players can also buy three War-Game maps. The game does not support Microsoft Windows but is available on Xbox-360, Xbox-One. Halo 4 story can be played in single player mode or cooperatively with a friend on the same console through the split screen and with up to three other players on Xbox Live. Halo 4 can only be played on Xbox One.

The player is in control of Master Chief, a cybernetically enhanced human, a super-soldier known as Spartan in the year 2557. The Master Chief and artificial intelligence (AI) Cortana explore an ancient civilization’s planet known as Requiem and encounter unknown threats while they explore. They battle against the rogue remnants of the military of alien races known as the Covenant and soldiers of the Forerunner Empire known as the Prometheans.

GAMEPLAY

Halo 4 is just as amazing as Halo 5, in halo 5 there are a few additional features introduced and Split screen feature is removed and offline play is removed. Graphics has been improved and some minor improvements. Halo 4 story is continued in Halo 5 when Master Chief and Cortana save Earth from invasion and in the process Cortana disables all war activities by releasing electromagnetic pluses to disable all colonies and transport to end war, all over the galaxy.

HALO 4 STORY

Cortana and the Chief awakens from hibernation (Cryogenic sleep) after four years of the destruction of Halo ring, they find the ship being attacked by a Covenant splinter group board the vessel. The ship gets pulled into the artificial Forerunner planet known as Requiem, trapped in an artificial gravity well and crash-land on its interior. Chief and Cortana explore Requiem as they fight the hostile Covenant and AI soldiers called Prometheans, Cortana starts to malfunctions and explains Chief that she is experiencing “rampancy” (going insane), a state in AIs when their knowledge becomes too large to handle. Chief promises Cortana to get her back to Earth in hope for her creator (Doctor Catherine Halsey) to fix her condition. Cortana picks up the corrupted transmissions from UNSC Infinity (a human ship), who have picked up Dawn’s distress call. Cortana tries to warn the Infinity ship away from Requiem’s gravity well but fails and directs Chief to disable the communications jammers. Instead, Chief accidentally releases the Didact Forerunner warrior from imprisonment. The Didact takes control of the Prometheans and Covenant to attack Infinity ship as it gets pulled into Requiem.

Chief contacts the ship Infinity to help stop the attack and recommends the captain to attack Didact while he is defenseless but instead captain Del Rio orders them to destroy the gravity well so the ship can escape, in order to avoid Didact attack. In the process, Chief is contacted by the wife of Didact, a Forerunner known as the Librarian, as well as ancient humanity’s protector. She explains Chief about the Forerunners and a device known as Composer that converts the warriors under his command that are digital and immune to infection of the Flood.
 After destroying the gravity well, the ship Infinity retreats back to Earth in order to report about Cortana and Master Chief’s presence on the planet. Infinity ship’s executive officer Commander Lasky gives Chief an armed transport when he disobeys to stand down and wishes him luck, Master Chief stays behind to face Didact. Chief and Cortana attempt to sabotage the Didact’s ship before they leave but are unsuccessful so they follow to a Halo ring, Installation-03 but the Composer is moved from the ring onto a nearby Research Station called Ivanoff. The Station is under attack by Covenant, Chief tries to defend Ivanoff but fails as Didact retrieves the Composer and uses it on the research station to convert all individuals into Prometheans except the Chief.

Cortana and Chief use a fighter to follow the Didact’s ship through the slipspace towards Earth, Aided by Infinity ship, now commanded by Lasky and the UNSC home fleet, the Chief get on the Didact’s ship with a nuclear warhead and Cortana copies herself into the Didact’s computer systems to overpower the Didact’s shield. Master Chief activates the bomb but is saved by Cortana as she sacrifices herself in order to save Chief and Earth from the dangers of Composer. Later Chief is found by a UNSC rescue team and is taken back to the Infinity ship where he grieves the loss of a friend Cortana and talks to Commander Lasky about Earth, humanity and what his duty as a soldier means, the reason why he disobeyed his command on the planet Requiem.
